What is Harmony Academy?

Introduction

Harmony Academy is a school in a world of fairies, this world has no name currently, and may not ever will. The reason to that is because the story is focused on the Academy, you don't often see much of the world outside of the campus, therefore not much has been thought of about it. Harmony Academy is a story about silly little adventures that happen in the school, whether it's sneezing in class, or some unimaginable creature somehow comes to life, there's normally some magical explanation to a problem, or solution.

Important highlights

(Things that need to be explained to understand better)

Here are some topics that I feel I need to explain before I continue, so that you can read confusion free! (hopefully).

Topic(1) Ability Gain.

Ability Gain is a period of time when a fairy is gaining an ability (pretty self explanatory). Some things to be noted however is that not every fairy will go through ability gain, only a select few will gain an ability every year. The likely age to go through ability gain is fourteen to sixteen, once a fairy passes that mark without gaining an ability, it most definitely means they never will.                          (Ability Gain will be explained further in a future post OuO)

Topic(2) Wings.

Being fairies, they obviously have wings, however the fairies of Harmony Academy can do what I like to call "Wing summoning." That's just a fancy term for "they can make their wings disappear and reappear on command." That way they don't need special furniture, or cut outs in the back of their clothing, because most of the time they won't even have their wings on their backs. Pretty useful right?

Topic(3) Uniforms.

All the fairies have what is called their "uniform." It's basically just what they wear in the Academy during the school period, all uniforms are made by Strut, the fairy of style, which means the student has no choice of what they wear every day, meaning some students aren't very happy about Struts choices. The uniforms are supposed to represent what they would wear if they were magical fairies who helped out Earth (because that totally wasn't the old plan for the series) so the uniforms aren't something you would wear as a typical everyday outfit. The uniforms represent the fairies title or ability, meaning that in some way or another, whether its the colors, style, or patterns, the uniform normally has something in common with their ability.

Main characters

Harmony Academy has a very large cast of characters that's constantly being added onto, of course some are more involved then others, but there are three main characters in the story that are normally involved in some way or another.

Amani- Gifted

Koray- Hopeless

Nova- Titalless

Notice that these three characters have different "types." This brings us to the next topic.

Titles

These "types" are how the students are separated depending on their title, or lack thereof. Titles are passed out depending on the fairy's ability, once a student is brought into the Academy, they go through a test, showing their ability to fairies who are "higher up" (Royalty), or taking tests to figure it out if their not sure what they do. If it is decided that the student's ability is "good" or helpful, they will be titled "Gifted," if their ability is unable to help, or dangerous, they will be called "Hopeless," showing that their ability is dangerous and they can't be helped. However, if a fairy's ability is, say, like Amani's, they Could be called the Dream Fairy, but since Amani already has that title, they are called "Titalless." Some wrong doing that is widely known in Harmony Academy is the fact that the "Gifted" fairies have an extra privilege then the "Hopeless" and "Titalless" fairies. This extra privilege is Ability Training, Hopeless fairies don't have mentors and aren't allowed to train with their ability because the academy doesn't want their "Dangerous" abilities to get stronger. The wrong doing of this is not only the obvious fact of how unfair it is, but also the fact that a Hopeless fairy by the name of Ivy, has pointed out many times before. "If anything we are more dangerous without training, because if we train, we can actually learn to control our 'dangerous' abilities!" But did the academy ever listen? Nope.

Story

Harmony Academy is neither a comic, or a book series, it is just a story that lives in my brain, with characters I love to draw. I'm going to try my best to explain the story in this blog, and hopefully I don't confuse anyone. Now while Harmony Academy isn't a comic, I may at times make dorky little comics or comic strips like such--

While Harmony Academy is supposed to be more lighthearted and silly, it still has a plot and villains, something that may get confusing at times because it's not in the form of a chronological story. The reason why things may get confusing is because (*spoil ahead!*) when Harmony Academy Was a series, I had a specific order the story went in (as do all stories), I had a plot I was building up to. However this plot, once reached, would change lots of things in Harmony Academy, and because I don't do it in a chronological story anymore (just sporadic comics and drawings) it may get confusing on what point in the story the comics and drawings are in. The reason why you would need to know is because (*Spoilers! You have been warned!*) After the plot is reached (or what was supposed to be the end of series 1) the students finally get the Principle and royalty to realize how wrongly some of the students are being treated. They were keeping the "Hopeless" fairies there because they were supposedly "too dangerous" to just be out in the world, and they were getting treated unfairly. Once they realize this, an idea is brought up by some of the students. What if, instead of keeping the fairies in the Academy just so that their not out in the world causing trouble, what if the fairies were brought into Harmony Academy to be taken care of and taught to control their abilities? A way of showing that even if their ability isn't very helpful, they still have a place in the world, a home." This was agreed upon, and to make equality, the fairies titles were removed, and every fairy who goes through Ability Gain was then called "Gifted" because they are all Gifted in their own unique ways. Hence the new title of the school: Harmony Academy, where the gifted live together in harmony. (The plot will be elaborated on more in a future post ) See, things are very different before and after the plot, meaning it may be confusing if I were to draw a comic or sketch from the time era before the plot was reached, and then draw a comic or sketch from the time era after it was reached, it may cause confusion. Which is why I am going to try to think of labels for these two era's, which will be listed here once I do \OuO/ --
